First Light (2002) Signed by Geoffrey Wellum
 
 Wellum had a particularly distinguished RAF career: he joined in August 1939 on a short-service commission and served with 92 Sqn throughout the Battle of Britain, from there he went to 65 Sqn at Debden as a Flight Commander. He later deployed to Malta from HMS Furious, leading a group of eight Spitfires to RAF Luqa as part of Operation Pedestal. After returning to England he served as a test pilot on Typhoons at Gloster Aircraft, ending the war as a gunnery instructor. Geoff Wellum left the RAF in 1961.
