Essentially a successor to Bivouac's Ensign series and forerunner of Conway's later 'Anatomy of the Ship' series. No. 5 was first published as Ensign 5 (1975); No. 6 as an Ensign Special (1975); No. 7 as Ensign 3 (1973).
