Men Of Coastal Command 1939-1945 (1985) By Chaz Bowyer
The book details many interesting stories of pilots and crew. It is not a history of Coastal Command but provides a feel for the mostly monotonous and occasionally frantic lives of the aircrews who searched for U-boats, guarded convoys and attacked enemy ships.
Chaz Bowyer (1927-2008) was an aviation historian and author. He joined the RAF, aged 16, in 1942 and left it in 1969. Then he turned his hand to his life-long passion for aviation and started writing.
