The First Minnesota (1989) Print By Don Troiani
The First Minnesota by Don Troiani is part of the artist's Epic of Gettysburg Series. The volunteer infantry stood strong and fought to hold back the oncoming Southerners until reinforcements arrived. Afterwards, only 47 men remained fit for combat. By the end of the Battle, the First Minnesotans had lost 82% of its men - the highest loss of any Union regiment in the war.
