A very funny and true book about life in the armed forces, the banter and laughter seemed constant, even when times were tough.
 
 Post-national service memoirs of a soldier in the British Army in the 1960s and 70s. Catterick, Northern Ireland (and mentions of PTSD), Singapore, and the rest of the world tour via Aldershot, Brecon Beacons (that should now be Bannau Brycheiniog!), and Bielefeld. I still don't know what unit he was with!
